QTIX

Clancestry returns from 23 July for over two weeks of extraordinary First Nations storytelling, music, dance, art and culture at QPAC!

An iconic event that has been a part of QPAC’s calendar since 2013, Clancestry is a celebration of identity and connection, providing a platform for both established and emerging First Nations artists to share their stories and talents. This year’s program is set to be a landmark event, bringing together some of the country’s most acclaimed creatives for an unforgettable experience.

The 2025 lineup includes the multi-award-winning play The Visitors by Jane Harrison and directed by Wesley Enoch following its critically acclaimed, sold-out seasons. Multi-award-winning electronic music duo Electric Fields will join forces with the Queensland Symphony Orchestra for a breathtaking night of music on a grand scale. Next, in one of the most innovative and energising works to emerge, composer and pianist Paul Grabowsky will bring the Queensland Symphony Orchestra and Yolŋu songmen Daniel Ngukurr Boy Wilfred and David Yipininy Wilfred together for Wata: a gathering for songmen, improvising soloists and orchestra. And returning to Clancestry, the legendary Bangarra Dance Theatre will present Illume – a stunning new work by Mirning Choreographer Frances Rings and Goolarrgon Bard Visual Artist Darrell Sibosado.

With more announcements to come – including free live music, creative works and fun activities for little ones and their families – be immersed in the vibrant and continually evolving culture of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander performing arts. Proudly curated and led by First Nations People, join us as we create, connect, and share – just as our ancestors have done for thousands of years before us.
