Join one of Australia’s most distinguished scientific minds, Professor Hugh Possingham, for an inspiring birdwatching walking tour as part of World Science Festival Brisbane’s inaugural Digital Detox series.

Birdwatching has soared in popularity, with more people than ever discovering the joys of connecting with nature post-COVID. The family-friendly tours available will take you through two stunning inner-city Brisbane nature reserves, offering the chance to spot a variety of bird species while learning from a leading expert in conservation science. Whether you’re a seasoned bird enthusiast or a curious beginner, this event promises fresh air, feathered friends and fascinating insights.

Digital Detox features a suite of curated nature walks and wildlife experiences hosted by scientists, researchers and ecological experts all over Brisbane. Attendees will receive a hand-made sustainable phone bag by local artist, Norton Fredericks at the outset of each guided experience to encourage disconnection from their digital devices and reconnection with nature.
