Discover the rich traditions of bush tukka on a guided walk with Batjala man Bruce ‘Gululai’ Phillips in the lush subtropical rainforest of Roma Street Parkland.

Join Gululai as he shares his deep connection to Country and generations of First Nations knowledge about the native plants that shape our landscapes. Learn about their traditional uses for food, medicine, and cultural practices while immersing yourself in the wisdom of the world’s oldest living culture.

Step away from the digital world and reconnect with nature on this unique bush tukka experience. Slow down, listen, and see the land through a different lens as you gain insight into the deep spiritual and practical ties between First Nations people and their environment.

This is your chance to taste freshly harvested bush tukka, personally gathered by Gululai, and experience the incredible flavours of native foods. Gift yourself a morning of cultural discovery, storytelling, and sensory exploration.

Please meet directly outside The Garden Room Café. Note that the nearest public transport is Roma Street Train Station, a short walk to the parkland. Otherwise it is a 10min walk from the city centre.
