Celebrated German musician, composer and producer Nils Frahm will bring his captivating neoclassical and electronic live show to QPAC as part of his global Music For tour. Each performance is uniquely tailored to the city it’s in, making every show a one-of-a-kind experience.

When it comes to defining the space between classical and electronic music, hardly any name is mentioned as often as Frahm. His unconventional approach to an age-old instrument, played contemplatively and intimately, and his sonic alchemy of ambient textures and atmospheric electronica, has won him many fans across the globe.

Frahm is known for starting Piano Day, a global party to celebrate the piano, and has worked with artists like Ólafur Arnalds, Peter Broderick, and F.S. Blumm. His 15 solo albums, seven EPs and multiple collaborative recordings have garnered international acclaim from critics and audiences alike, and his live shows are regularly sold out.

Frahm has also worked extensively in the film industry. His first film score for Victoria, directed by Sebastian Schipper, won the German Film Prize for Best Soundtrack. He also collaborated with Woodkid on Ellis, a short film by JR featuring Robert De Niro, and contributed to Ad Astra (James Gray, starring Brad Pitt) and Manifesto (Julian Rosefeldt, starring Cate Blanchett).

His breadth and depth of music creation is reflected in the album Music for Animals and on the recently released record Day Frahm shows that he is a master of creating poignant and simple melodies.
