Basketball

Recommended for: basketballers, any ball sport players, circus students
Ages: 8+
Location: Melbourne Street Green, QPAC
Time: 1:30pm – 2:30pm

A fun, yet challenging workshop. Local basketballers will be taught a series of tricks from one of the world’s top basketball freestylers. Participants will learn the various elements of basketball freestyling – spinning moves, rolling moves, dribbling, and juggling – as well as being shown how to connect these together with style and flare. Promoting creativity, as well as honing hand-eye coordination, this workshop is suitable for young enthusiasts, right through to advanced ballers.

 

Breakdancing – Beginners

Recommended for: beginner students of dance, circus or movement 
Ages: 10+ 
Location: Concert Hall Stage, QPAC
Time: 1:30pm – 2:30pm


Two internationally renowned breakdancers give this amazing dance workshop, teaching choreography, technique and tricks in this explosive dance genre. Equally popular with boys and girls, this action-packed masterclass teaches the four main elements of breakdancing – top rocks, footwork, freezes and power moves – and how to link these together into fluent ‘sets’. Participants are actively encouraged to incorporate their own original style and character in the fun and supportive environment created by the 360 ALLSTARS breakdancers.

Breakdancing – Intermediate

Recommended for: those with some experience in dance, circus or movement 
Ages: 10+ 
Location: Melbourne Street Green, QPAC
Time: 3pm – 4pm

360 ALLSTARS Music Jason Haskins

Music

Recommended for: music students
Ages: 8+
Location: Concert Hall Stage, QPAC
Time: 3pm – 4pm


This hands-on workshop educates students on how to make musical instruments out of everyday household objects. From body percussion to ‘junk drumming’, participants will learn procedures to creatively source sounds from inanimate objects. Participants will then learn how to use a loop station to record multiple layers of music to create a live performance. Led by two award-winning artists, this inspiring masterclass empowers musicians of all abilities to create their own music.
