A long-time favourite of Brisbane audiences, Piers Lane returns to the Medici Series with a delectable programme of music by two beloved composers of piano music.

The first half commemorates the 150th anniversary of the birth of Sergei Rachmaninoff with a selection of his famous preludes, followed by a second half that brings together many of Chopin’s most endearing pieces, ones that have been featured in the famous ballets of Chopiniana and Les Sylphides. The two composers are brought together in the centrepiece of the programme: Rachmaninov’s monumental Chopin Variations. This performance is certain to delight all lovers of Romantic piano music.
