The Medici Series welcomes the return of Konstantin Shamray who continues to build an impressive career since winning the Sydney International Piano Competition in 2008.

As Brisbane audiences await the performances of Wagner’s Ring Cycle in December, Shamray’s programme features highlights from a range of Wagner’s operas to whet the appetite and build anticipation. Together with extracts from Tannhauser and Parsifal, the programme features one of the standout highlights from the cycle: the Magic Fire Music from Die Walküre in Shamray’s own arrangement for piano. Following Ravel’s dazzling evocation of the Viennese waltz, the concert culminates with Prokofiev’s monumental 8th Piano Sonata.

A program and pianist not to be missed.
