Debussy’s early and late styles side by side, from the sumptuous “Clair de lune to the groundbreaking Etudes. Dedicated to Chopin, Debussy’s Etudes were also a model for those of Hungarian composer András Ligeti, born 100 years ago. A big birthday celebration too for Rachmaninov, born 150 years ago – through his spectacular and ever popular transcriptions.
