“You get a singer like this once in a generation or two” – New Yorker

A charismatic storyteller and dramatically charged performer, Cécile McLorin Salvant combines searingly emotive vocals with a captivating stage presence in a thrilling force that has electrified audiences the world over, and reimagined jazz for a new generation.

As the most accomplished jazz vocalist of her generation, Cécile has collected countless accolades, winning the Thelonious Monk competition in 2010, receiving the MacArthur fellowship in 2022 and the Duke Artist Award – as well as the Grammy Award for Best Jazz Vocal Album for three consecutive years.

Seamlessly traversing genre and culture – from jazz, blues, baroque and folkloric music – Cécile will take audiences on a mesmeric journey through a broad repertoire ranging from rich interpretations of familiar songs to rarely performed treasures – all bought to life with her uniquely theatrical flair.

Described by Spin as “...her generation’s most imaginative and thrilling jazz interpreter,” she promises to deliver one of this year’s most talked-about performances!

For her Brisbane concert, Cécile will be joined by Brisbane-born, future soul artist Tiana Khasi whose voice has been described ‘as venomous as it is honey-sweet’. Tiana’s music pays homage to her Samoan and Indian heritage while exploring a forward-thinking blend of soul, jazz and pop. “Tiana Khasi nails both aura and songwriting” – Rolling Stone US

Running Times:
7:00 – 7:30pm – Tiana Khasi
7:30 – 7:50pm - Interval
7:50 – 9:20pm – Cécile McLorin Salvant

With three Grammys and a MacArthur 'Genius' Award to her name, Salvant has already far transcended her early status as her generation's most imaginative and thrilling jazz interpreter.
